"Stranded"

Part XI
By Leenys
Mike's first inclination was to leave Peter to sulk.  He had other problems to deal with rather than go after someone who was obviously losing his mind and self-control.  The panic in Micky's eyes caused him to rethink his position.  Micky was the only one who got along with everybody on a constant basis; his concern for Peter was genuine and heartfelt and Mike didn't want to tread on a good trait with his own selfishness.  He looked to Davy who seemed to be going through a struggle  of his own, then set off in the direction Peter had taken, with the other two on his tail.

As it turned out, he wasn't hard to find.  He was at the crash site, sorting through the rubble with an obvious purpose in mind while muttering to himself.  He sensed the others behind him and rose slowly, deliberately keeping his back to them.  Silence reigned for several minutes as pride prevented each one from speaking first.  When Micky could no longer take the silence he stepped forward.  "Peter..."

"No.  I don't want to hear it."  Peter's voice was painfully and frighteningly calm.  His hands were held in front of him, concealing something.  Micky noticed and cautiously took another step forward.

"Peter?  Talk to me, man."

Peter suddenly spun around, bearing a sharp piece of metal he'd retrieved from the wreckage.  He held it in front of him like a sword, daring anyone to approach him.  "Talk?  About what?  About how you betrayed Mike?  Or how Davy betrayed me?"  He turned to the Englishman.  "So beautiful," he sighed, " I just wanted to love you, for you to be mine..." venom sparked in his voice and he turned to Micky, "but no...  he wants you, Mike wants you, everyone wants you!  Why?  What makes you so special, huh?"  With rage burning in his crazed eyes he pounced on Micky, grabbing him by his hair and holding the metal shard to his throat.  "What is it?"  he yelled.  Mike and Davy lunged forwards but checked up as Peter shoved the point of the shard into Micky's throat just enough for a dot of steamy blood to appear.  "What is it about you?"  He yanked hard on the curls as Micky gave a startled grunt!  "Boyish charm?  Humor?  Oh, I know, you're great in bed.  Well, we'll see about that."  He shoved Micky onto the ground and straddled him, holding the metal shard over his heart while loosening his pants with one hand.

"No!"  Davy started forward and stopped as Peter poked Micky's chest.

"Would you deny me the pleasure you had?"  Peter asked viciously.

"Bastard!!"  Mike was livid.  He could have knocked Peter off of Micky but something about Peter's crazed expression cautioned him against hasty action.  He watched as Micky was stripped down and mounted like mating cattle.

Davy had no such reservations.  He ran forward, knocking Peter off balance.  Micky rolled and stood, trying desperately to clothe himself.  "Davy!  No!"

Mike launched into the battle, trying to wrestle the metal shard away from Peter's tight grip.  He turned sharply just as Peter plunged the shard at his heart.  Davy was right behind him, and all motion stopped as Peter gave a blood-curdling yell.  Mike saw Davy fall, a look of shock and disbelief on his face.  "Davy?"

"Davy!"  Micky pushed Peter aside and knelt over the wounded man.  "Davy...oh god..."

"Micky..."  Blood bubbled from his mouth as he forced the shard from his ribs.  His eyes rolled back into his head, and he painfully breathed his last.

Peter stared wide-eyed in shock.  "No, not Davy, it was supposed to be, not Davy, no, NO!!"  He snatched the metal from the ground and spun.  "It was supposed to be YOU!"  And he plunged the metal deep into Micky's back.

In an instant Mike was upon him, pummeling him, killing him.  Blow after blow found its mark, and Peter collapsed under the onslaught.  But not before Peter wrenched the shard from Micky's still form.  With grim determination he thrust it forwards, ramming it into Mike's chest.  Mike staggered, and then grinned grotesquely as blood ran from his lips.  "You planned this well, you've killed us in a matter of minutes,"  he gurgled.  After catching a pained breath he continued.  "You've forgotten the usual ending to a story like this."

"What would that be?"  Peter asked warily.

"The final embrace."  And Mike grabbed Peter and crushed him into a hug, impaling him on the other end of the metal.  Peter's eyes bulged; his weight shifted and dragged them both to the ground.  Mike forced himself off of the shard's point and crawled over to Micky.  "Mick...I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry..."

A faint voice could just be heard.  "Do you still love me?"

"Always, Mick."

"Then hold me."

Mike used his last bit of strength to gather Micky into his arms, and together they let go.
